London is Burning

My mother and I were discussing the riots in London today.
You really have to wonder what the world is coming to when people start burning local homes and business' for entertainment. This now has nothing to do with someone getting shot, it's just an excuse to loot and burn. I'm extremely ashamed of the people who have taken part in the riots, not only as a citizen of the UK but as a person of both a black and white ethnic background. They are, pardon the pun, fueling the fire for racial stereotyping as the majority of people in the riots were black. I just know this is going to have repercussions, the BNP for example are going to pounce on this.
On the other hand though, we have those amazing people who are joining together for a noble cause, cleaning up the aftermath. I wish I could help, as a person who hopes to live in London someday, I know I would.
Also, the idiocy of other cities following suit is devestating, I hope my city retains its sanity and refrains from joining in. I'm sure we'll stand together.

Why Wasn't I Blogging Before!?

So, hello to you! (Whoever you are)
My name is Olivia and I'm starting a blog. (Be forewarned, I doubt it'll be astoundingly articulate, it's my first try!)
It struck me today as I was reading ITalkToSnakes' blog (Who is an awesome Youtuber, UNICORN WARRIORS FOR LIFE...carrying on) I love to read, write and talk about myself...lol. Okay, not in a concieted way, in an...I like to keep a diary kind of way. So, why don't I keep a blog!?
Seems like a solution my lack of interesting things to do.
Okay, so my life is not the utter suck-fest I make it out to be.
I have great friends, the closest being named: Adam, Rossana, Rachael, Orla, Jonathan, Laura, Michael and Ellie. They are the people I trust implicitely and are who I know I can turn to for anything, I love them very much and now I'm going to stop being mushy.
As I said, I love to read. All thanks to Harry Potter! ( What a surprise, another teenager who is in love with the Harry Potter series...I don't care, we all rule! Also, I just got onto Pottermore, yaaaaaay!) I've loved it since I was but a babe (7 years old) and it has shaped my life and I know I wouldn't be who I am today without it. Aside from Harry Potter though I do love other books. I've read Twilight and I lved it when I was a tween and I say I've grown out of it, but then when a movie comes out I revert to fan girl mode and I know I still love it. I luuurve The Hunger Games, it's so kick arse/ass and so is Katniss Everdeen. I've also just become a part of the The Mortal Instruments fandom. I love it quite a bit, my favourite character is Maia, she doesn't get much credit but she's really cool. I've read the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels and totally ship Scott and Kim! Pinegrim ftw!I've also read the Fallen series, the Hush Hush series, the Dark Devine, etc. I guess you could say I'm into supernatural romance...you'd be technically correct...
I'm also a writer, or I like to think of myself as one. I'm writing a novel right now, it's supernatural romance (which I feel stupid saying aloud or writing), but it mainly revolves around friendship and the discovery of one's true self, I'm getting really proud of it, 35,000 words, wooo! I also write fan fiction, which I suck at because I'll start a story, think of a new one and then move on and my readers get annngry! I also like to write scripts which myself and my friends will film, such as our Doctor Who Parody and our new sitcom Raised By Teenage Girls.
Bringing me onto my last topic, acting. I LOVE TO ACT! It is absolutely my passion and I want to persue it as a career. I am an academically minded person, and so I can see how uncertain a career like that can be, but I have a good feeling about my choice and hope I can follow my dream. We'll see. :)
I hope I haven't bored anyone reading this, I doubt anyone will really, this a more of a way to vent.
Love you for reading if you did! Obviously if you're at this point you did. Tankoooo!
Love from,
Livvy. xxx
